Abstract
ABSTRAK
Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal bahwa pembelajaran masih menggunakan metode ceramah. Pembelajaran hanya difokuskan pada aspek kognitif, sedangkan keterampilan proses sains siswa kurang diperhatikan. Nilai Biologi rata-rata siswa masih dibawah KKM yaitu 65 sedangkan yang ditentukan sebesar 70. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini: (1) apakah metode praktikum mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa; (2) apakah metode praktikum mempunyai pengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dan rancangan Non-Equivalent Control Group Pretest-Postest. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes keterampilan proses sains dan tes hasil belajar. Populasi penelitian adalah kelas VIII semester 1 MTs Raudhatul Jannah Tahun Ajaran 2014/2015, sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIII-1 berjumlah 23 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII-2 berjumlah 23 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode tes dan analisis data menggunakan program SPSS versi 19.0 for windows.
Hasil penelitian Uji hipotesis Anacova menggunakan program SPSS versi 19.0 for windows menunjukkan (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang positif terhadap hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan metode praktikum dengan nilai sig 0,000 < 0.05. (2) Terdapat pengaruh positif terhadap Kerempilan Proses Sains siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan metode praktikum dengan nilai sig 0,000 < 0.05. Jika α = 0,05 lebih besar atau sama dengan nilai Sig = 0,000 atau (0,05 ≥ 0,000), maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak.
ABSTRACT
Based on the result of pre-observation, it was found that teaching learning activity was using speech method. The activity only focused on cognitive aspect, while the other students’ science process skills have been less noticed. The average of students’ Biology score was 65 less than KKM which was 70. So, it was needed an improvement of students’ achievement and science process skills. The problems of the study were: (1) Did the laboratory practice method have positive influence to students’ science skills; (2) Did the laboratory practice method have positive influence to students’ achievements.
This study used quantitative approach of quasi–experiment kind and non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The instrument which used was science process skill test and achievement test. The population of study was VIII grade on first semester at MTs Raudhatul Jannah on Academic Year 2014/ 2015, class VIII-1 consisted of 23 students who were as experiment class and VIII-2 consisted of 23 students who were as the control class. Data was collected by using test method and data analysis used SPSS program 19.0 version for windows.
Result of the study anacova hypotheses test used SPSS program 19.0 version for windows showed that laboratory practice method influenced significantly to (1) students’ achievement based on test table of Between-Groups by Sig=0.000 (2) students’ science process skills based on test table of Between-Groups by Sig=0.000. It can be seen based on test table of Between-Groups by Sig=0.000. If α = 0.05 higher than or similar to Sig = 0.000 or (0.05 ≥ 0.000), so Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected.
