Abstract

Mutu lembaga pendidikan di Indonesia salah satunya dapat dilihat dari nilai akreditasi. Data hasil akreditasi Madrasah Tsanawiyah se-Kota Palangka Raya menunjukkan lima terakreditasi A (Unggul), empat terakreditasi B (Baik), empat terakreditasi C (Cukup Baik) dan satu belum terakreditasi. Pencapaian hasil akreditasi tersebut tidak terlepas dari kepemimpinan kepala madrasah. Mutu Madrasah Tsanawiyah dapat dilihat dari prestasi akademis peserta didiknya salah satunya nilai ujian nasional dimana nilai rata-rata ujian nasional MTs se-kota Palangka Raya pada tahun 2019 adalah 50,30. Nilai ujian nasional berkaitan erat dengan kompetensi guru. Berdasarkan hasil akreditasi dan nilai ujian nasional tersebut maka ditelitilah pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dan kompetensi guru terhadap mutu pendidikan MTs se-Kota Palangka Raya.

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kepemimpinan kepala madrasah, kompetensi guru dan mutu pendidikan madrasah tsanawiyah se-Kota Palangka Raya. Pendeskripsian tersebut dimaksudkan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dan kompetensi guru terhadap mutu pendidikan madrasah tsanawiyah se-Kota Palangka Raya baik secara parsial maupun simultan.

Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua kepala madrasah dan guru Madrasah Tsanawiyah se-Kota Palangka Raya sebanyak 295 orang. Penentuan sampel ditentukan dengan rumus Slovin sebanyak 179 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan angket, dokumentasi, observasi dan wawancara. Sebelum digunakan angket terlebih dahulu diujicobakan dan menunjukkan dari 118 dari 122 pertanyaan dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Sebelum uji hipotesis dilakukan uji persyaratan analisis yaitu uji normalitas dan multikolinearitas yang menunjukkan data terdistribusi secara normal dan tidak terjadi gejala multikolinearitas. Uji hipotesis menggunakan statistik parametrik dengan teknik uji regresi.

Hasil analisis data menunjukkan secara umum kualifikasi kepemimpinan kepala madrasah, kompetensi guru dan mutu pendidikan MTs se-Kota Palangka Raya telah sangat tinggi. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala madrasah berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap mutu pendidikan MTs se-kota Palangka Raya dengan membentuk persamaan regresi Y = 92,101 + 0,517X1 dan koefisien determinasi 41,0%. Kompetensi guru berpengaruh secara parsial terhadap mutu pendidikan MTs se-Kota Palangka Raya dengan membentuk persamaan regresi Y = 43,990 + 0,768X2 dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 39,2%. Kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dan kompetensi guru secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap mutu pendidikan MTs se-Kota Palangka Raya dengan membentuk persamaan regresi Y = 38,005 + 0,339X1 + 0,474X2 dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 51,0%.

ABSTRACT

One of quality from education institute in Indonesia can be seen by accreditation score. The accreditation score data of Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Palangka Raya shows that five A accredited (superior), four B accredited (good), four C accredited (fair), and one still not yet accredited. The achievement of accreditation score can’t be separated from the Principals’ leadership. Beside accreditation score, the quality of Madrasah Tsanawiyah can be seen by students’ academic achievement like at National Exam MTs on 2019 in Palangka Raya that has average 50.30. National exam score tightly related with teachers’ competence. Based on the results of the accreditation and national examination scores, the influence of the leadership of madrasah principals and teacher competence on the quality education at MTs in Palangka Raya was examined.

The purpose of this research is to describe the Madrasah principals’ leadership , teachers’ competence and education quality in MTs at Palangka Raya. This description meant to analyze the Effect of Madrasah principals’ leadership and teachers’ competence toward education quality at MTs in Palangka Raya partially and simultaneously.

The population in this research are all the Madrasah principals and all the teachers at MTs in Palangka Raya in total 295. The sample determination decided with Slovin formula and obtained total sample 179. The data collection technique used questionnaire, documentation, observation and interview. The questionnaire will be try out first before used and shown that 118 of 122 was valid and reliable. Before hypothesis test done analysis requirement test ike normality test and multicollinearity that shown the data was distributed normally and there was no multicollinearity indication. Hypothesis test used regression technique test with parametric statistic.

The results of data analysis show that in general the qualifications of Madrasah principals, teachers’ competence and the quality at MTs education in Palangka Raya was very high. The results of the hypothesis test show that the leadership Madrasah leadership had significance effect toward education quality at MTs in Palangka Raya with the regression equation Y = 92.101 + 0.517X1 and the coefficient of determination 41.0%. Teachers’ competence had significance effect toward education quality at MTs in Palangka Raya with the regression equation Y = 43.990 + 0.768X2 with a determination coefficient 39.2%. The leadership of madrasah principals and teachers’ competence simultaneously had significance effect toward education quality at MTs in Palangka Raya with the regression equation Y = 38.005 + 0.339X1 + 0.474X2 with a determination coefficient 51.0%.
