Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penerapan model discovery learning dengan metode probing-prompting dan model guided inquiry dengan metode probing-prompting terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah dan sikap ilmiah peserta didik di MAN Model Palangka Raya pada materi usaha dan energi.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan model nonequivalent control group design dengan pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, sampel yang dipilih yaitu kelas X MIPA 3 dan X MIPA 2. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di MAN Model Palangka Raya pada bulan Maret sampai dengan April 2017. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan memecahkan masalah, angket sikap ilmiah, lembar pengamatan untuk kemampuan memecahkan masalah, sikap ilmiah dan pengelolaan pembelajaran.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan kemampuan memecahkan masalah peserta didik menggunakan model discovery learning dengan metode probing-prompting dan model guided inquiry dengan metode probing-prompting; (2) terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan sikap ilmiah peserta didik menggunakan model discovery learning dengan metode probing-prompting dan model guided inquiry dengan metode probing-prompting; (3) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan memecahkan masalah peserta didik menggunakan model discovery learning dengan metode probing-prompting dan model guided inquiry dengan metode probing-prompting; (4) tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan sikap ilmiah peserta didik menggunakan model discovery learning dengan metode probing-prompting dan model guided inquiry dengan metode probing-prompting; (5) tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan sikap ilmiah terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah peserta didik menggunakan model discovery learning dengan metode probing-prompting dan model guided inquiry dengan metode probing-prompting; (6) pengelolaan pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning dengan metode probing-prompting dan model guided inquiry dengan metode probing-prompting berkategori baik.
ABSTRACT
This study aims to knows the implementation of discovery learning model with probing-prompting method and guided inquiry model with probing-prompting method toward problem solving ability and scientific attitude of students in MAN Model Palangka Raya on work and energy subject.
This study uses a model quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design with sampling using purposive sampling, The selected sample is class X MIPA 3 and X MIPA 2. This research was conducted in MAN Model Palangka Raya in Maret to April 2017. Instrument used is problem solving ability test, questionnaires of scientific attitude and observation sheets of problem solving ability, scientific attitude and learning management.
The results showed that: (1) there is a significant improvement between problem solving ability of students in learning to use the discovery learning model with probing-prompting method and guided inquiry model with probing-prompting method; (2) there is a significant improvement between scientific attitude of students in learning to use the discovery learning model with probing-prompting method and guided inquiry model with probing-prompting method; (3) there is a significant difference between problem solving ability of students in learning to use the discovery learning model with probing-prompting method and guided inquiry model with probing-prompting method; (4) there is no significant difference between scientific attitude of students in learning to use the discovery learning model with probing-prompting method and guided inquiry model with probing-prompting method; (5) there is no correlation between scientific attitude toward problem solving ability of students in learning to use the discovery learning model with probing-prompting method and guided inquiry model with probing-prompting method; (6) learning management to use the discovery learning model with probing-prompting method and guided inquiry model with probing-prompting method including into good category.
