Abstract

Praktik Membaca al-Quran (PMQ) sangat menarik untuk diteliti karena merupakan salah satu perwujudan dari motto IAIN Palangka Raya yaitu exellent, trusted, qualified based on the Qur'an and Sunnah. Sealain itu, persepsi masyarakat terhadap mahasiswa atau alumni IAIN Palangka Raya adalah pasti bisa dan fasih dalam membaca al-Quran sehingga perlu diadakan mata kuliah PMQ untuk memenuhi tuntutan masyarakat tersebut.

Rumusan penelitian ini adalah (a) bagaimana pelaksanaan PMQ di IAIN Palangka Raya semester ganjil tahun akademik 2015/2016? (b) Apa saja problematika dalam pelaksanaannya? (c) Bagaimanakah upaya dalam mengatasi problematika tersebut? Dengan demikian tujuan penelitian ini adalah (a) untuk mendeskripsikan tentang Pelaksanaan PMQ di IAIN Palangka Raya semester ganjil tahun akademik 2015/2016, kemudian (b) Untuk mendeskripsikan apa saja problematika dalam pelaksanaannya, dan (c) Untuk mendeskripsikan tentang upaya dalam mengatasi problematika tersebut.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Data digali dengan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengabsahan data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi.

Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa: (1) pelaksanaan PMQ di IAIN Palangka Raya semester ganjil tahun akademik 2015/2016 terdiri dari empat tahap. Tahap pengelompokan, seleksi pembimbing, bimbingan, dan evaluasi. (2) Problematika pelaksanaan PMQ, yaitu: (a) Problematika tahap pengelompokan berupa penilaian yang kurang objektif. (b) Problematika tahap seleksi pembimbing yaitu bentuk tes yang tidak sama. (c) Problematika dalam proses bimbingan yaitu: Pertama, problematika pembimbing yaitu menentukan metode bimbingan, waktu yang terbatas, dan sikap mahasiswa bimbingan yang kurang disiplin. Kedua, problematika mahasiswa bimbingan yaitu motivasi, pemahaman materi, lingkungan sosial yang tidak mendukung, dan waktu yang sangat terbatas. (d) Problematika dalam evaluasi yaitu turunnya rasa percayaan diri peserta karena takut mendapat penguji yang susah memberi nilai. (3) Upaya-upaya yang dilakukan dalam mengatasi problematika PMQ di IAIN palangka Raya semester ganjil tahun akademik 2015/2016 yaitu: (a) Upaya-upaya Panitia: Pengelompokan kembali, menjaring pembimbing yang berkualitas, melakukan rapat evaluasi dan koordinasi, dan menyusun sistem evaluasi yang efektif. (b) Upaya pembimbing yaitu memaksimalkan penggunaan metode, memaksimalkan waktu, dan bersikap tegas terhadap mahasiswa, (c) Upaya-upaya yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa bimbingan yaitu meningkatkan motivasi, menanyakan materi yeng belum dipahami, meluangkan waktu, dan memaksimalkan waktu dengan belajar secara optimal.

ABSTRACT

Practice Reading al-Quran (PMQ) is very interesting to investigate because it is one manifestation of the motto IAIN Palangka Raya is excellent, trusted, qualified based on the Quran and Sunnah. Moreover, the public perception of the student or alumni of IAIN Palangka Raya are certainly able and fluent in reading al-Quran so there should be courses PMQ to meet the demands of society.

The formulation of this study were (1) how the implementation of PMQ in odd semester at IAIN Palangka Raya 2015/2016 academic year? (2) what the problem in its implementation? (3) how is the effort to overcome these problems? Therefore the purpose of this study were (1) to describe the implementation of PMQ in odd semester at IAIN Palangka Raya 2015/2016 academic year, (2) to describe what are the problems in its implementation, and (3) for a description of the effort to overcome these problems.

The research belonged to descriptive qualitative method. The data extracted by interview, observation, and documentation. The study was using purposive sampling technique. The data validation study was using triangulation techniques.

The results of the study showed that: (1) the implementation of PMQ in odd semester at IAIN Palangka Raya 2015/2016 academic year consisted of four stages, namely; stage grouping, selection, coaching, guidance, and evaluation. (2) the problems of implementation of PMQ, namely: (a) the problems of stage grouping were less objective assessment, (b) problems of supervising the selection stage were the test that is not the same, (c) the problems in the process of guidance thet was first, the problems of determining the method of guidance counselors, limited time, and the attitude of coaching students who lack discipline. Second, the problem of student guidance is motivation, understanding of the material, social environment that does not support, and a very limited time. (d)the problem in the evaluation that was the decline in a sense of confidence testers’ participants due to the fear that is difficult to give a value. (3) the efforts made to overcome the problems of PMQ in odd semester at IAIN Palangka Raya 2015/2016 academic year were: (a) efforts committee: grouping back, capture qualified mentors, evaluation meeting and coordination, and establish systems effective evaluation. (b) efforts supervisor is to maximize the use of methods, maximizing time, and be firm against the student, (c) the efforts undertaken by students’ guidance that increase motivation, asking material that was not yet understood, take the time, and maximize the time to learn optimally.
