Abstract

Faktor kinerja guru menjadi sebuah hal yang menentukan dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan di sebuah lembaga pendidikan. Banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja guru, diantaranya yaitu keterampilan manajerial kepala sekolah dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana sumbangan efektif keterampilan manajerial dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru SLTP di Kota Palangka Raya, baik secara terpisah maupun bersama-sama.
Populasi penelitian ini adalah guru SLTP Se Kota Palangka Raya yang berjumlah 2.064 orang yang tersebar di 58 SLTP Se Kota Palangka Raya. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik proportional random sampling dengan jumlah sekolah sebanyak 51 SLTP, sedangkan sampel guru berjumlah 332 orang yang tersebar di 51 SLTP Se Kota Palangka Raya. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket yang disusun dan diujicobakan untuk mendapatkan alat ukur yang valid dan reliabel. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik regresi berganda.
Hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa keterampilan manajerial memberikan sumbangan efektif terhadap kinerja guru sebesar 70,00%, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memberikan sumbangan efektif terhadap kinerja guru sebesar 84,60%, dan secara bersama-sama keterampilan manajerial dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memberikan sumbangan efektif terhadap kinerja guru SLTP Se Kota Palangka Raya sebesar 85,60%.

Teachers performance is one important thing in the effort to increase education quality in an educational institution. Many factors which effect the performance of Teachers among which Managerial Skills and Leadership of the Headmaster
This study was aimed at knowing the impact of managerial skills and leadership of the headmaster towards the teachers work in Junior High Schools in Palangka Raya, whether individual or in group.
The population of the study was all teachers in Junior High Schools in Palangka Raya, which consist of 2.064 people from 58 schools. The use of Proportional Random Sampling resulted 51 schools as the sample. Then, it gave 332 sample teachers from those schools. In collecting the data, the researcher applied questionnaire which was well-arranged and tested firstly to get the valid and reliable instrument. The data was, then, analyzed by using double regression statistical analysis.
The result of the analysis shows that the headmaster’s competence in managerial influences teachers’ work as 70%, and headmaster’s leadership has great effect on teachers work as 84.60%. Thus, both headmaster competence in managerial and leadership have great influence towards the teachers work of Junior High Schools in Palangka Raya as 85.60%.
