Abstract

Hubungan status gizi dengan perkembangan kognitif pada anak dan balita, termasuk dalam golongan masyarakat kelompok rentan gizi. Kurangnya gizi pada anak dan balita dapat menyebabkan lemah, konsentrasi menurun dan perkembangan anak melambat. Sehingga dapat mempengaruhi perkembangan kognitif pada anak.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) mengetahui status gizi anak usia 5-6 tahun di RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya berdasarkan pengukuran Indeks Massa Tubuh dan Pengukuran Lingkar Lengan Atas. 2) mengetahui perkembangan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun di RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya. 3) mendeskripsikan hubungan status gizi dengan perkembangan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun di RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya.

Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional, metode yang digunakan survei analitik. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 25 peserta didik dengan metode sampling yaitu menggunakan sampling total, yang berarti semua populasi dijadikan sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan angket, observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data dalam penelitian menggunakan uji korelasi product moment.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : 1) Indeks masa tubuh peserta didik di RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya yang berkualifikasi gizi buruk sebesar 16%, gizi kurang sebesar 20%, gizi baik sebesar 48%, gizi lebih sebesar 16%. Adapun Lingkar lengan atas peserta didik di RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya yang berkualifikasi gizi buruk sebesar 16%, gizi kurang sebesar 8%, gizi baik sebesar 52%, gizi lebih sebesar 8%, dan termasuk obesitas sebesar 16%. 2) Perkembangan kognitif dalam hal belajar dan pemecahan masalah berkualifikasi mulai berkembang sebesar 32%, berkembang sesuai harapan sebesar 68%. Adapun Perkembangan kognitif dalam hal berpikir logis berkalifikasi mulai berkembang sebesar 12%, berkembang sesuai harapan sebesar 88%. Untuk Perkembangan kognitif dalam hal berpikir simbolik berkualifikasi mulai berkembang sebesar 36%, berkembang sesuai harapan sebesar 60%, berkembang sangat baik sebesar 4%. 3) Berdasarkan penghitungan uji korelasi product moment diketahui hubungan indeks masa tubuh dengan perkembangan kognitif anak dengan nilai signifikan lebih kecil dari nilai alpha atau 0,009 < 0,05. Pada hubungan lingkar lengan atas dengan perkembangan anak dengan nilai signifikan lebih kecil dari nilai alpha atau 0,024 < 0,05 dengan demikian Ha diterima, nilai correlations sebesar -0,512 dan -0,449. Kesimpulan bahwa adanya hubungan yang sangat lemah antara status gizi dengan perkembangan kognitif anak usia 5-6 tahun di RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya.

ABSTRACT

The relationship between nutritional status and cognitive development in children and toddlers, including those in the nutritionally vulnerable group. Lack of nutrition in children and toddlers can cause weakness, decrease concentration and slow child development. So that it can affect cognitive development in children.
This study aims to: 1) knowing the nutritional status of children age 5-6 years at RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya based on measurements of body mass index and upper arm circumference measurement. 2) knowing the cognitive development of children age 5-6 years at RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya. 3) describe the relationship between nutritional status and cognitive development of children age 5-6 years in RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya.

The research used was quantitative research with a correlational approach, the method used was an analytic survey. The sample in this study were 25 students with a sampling method, namely using sampling total. Which means that all populations were sampled. Research data collection techniques used questionnaires, observation and interviews. Data analysis in research used product moment correlation test.

The results showed that: 1) the body mass index of students at RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya with the qualifications of malnutrition was 16%, lacked of nutrition was 20%. Good nutrition was 48%, over nutrition was 16%. As for the upper arm circumference of students at RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya who qualified for malnutrition by 16%, under nutrition by 8%, good nutrition by 52%, over nutrition by 8%, and included obesity by 16%. 2) cognitive development in terms of learning and solving qualified problems began to developed by 32%, developed according to expectations by 68%. The cognitive development in terms of classified logical thinking began to develop by 12%, developed according to expectations by 88%. For cognitive development in terms of qualified symbolic thinking began to develop by 36%, developing according to expectations by 60%, developing very well by 4%. 3) based on the calculation of the product moment correlation test, it is knowed that the relationship between body mass index and children’s cognitive development is significantly smaller than the alpha value or 0,009 < 0,05. In the relationship between upper arm circumference and child development with a significant value smaller than the alpha value or 0,024 < 0,05, thus Ha is a very weak relationship between nutritional status and cognitive development of children aged 5-6 years in RA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya.
