Abstract

Berdasarkan penilaian standar sebelumnya di ketahui bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Biologi umumnya belum mencapai nilai KKM klasikal misalnya pada materi ciri-ciri makhluk hidup. Hal itu disebabkan oleh rendahnya tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pelajaran. Selain itu, pembelajaran yang masih terpusat pada guru atau konvensional dan kurangnya keaktifan siswa dalam proses pembelajaranberakibattidakmaksimalnyahasilbelajar.Olehkarenaitu, dilakukan upaya untuk melihat manfaat penggunaan model pembelajaran Discovery pada materi ciri-ciri makhluk hidup terhadap hasil belajar siswa.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (a) untuk mengetahui penerapan model Discovery pada materi ciri-ciri makhluk hidup kelas VII.1 di MTs Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya; (b) untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Discovery terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas VII.1 di MTs Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya; (c) untuk mengetahui respon siswa kelas VII.1 terhadap penerapan model Discovery pada materi ciri-ciri makhluk hidup.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen design dalam bentuk one group pretest-postest. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah siswa MTs Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya dan sampelnya adalah siswa Kelas VII.1MTs Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah teshasil belajar kognitif siswa, angket pengelolaan pembelajaran dan angket respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran.
Hasil analisis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Penilaian penerapan model Discovery mata pelajaran biologi pada materi ciri-ciri makhluk hidup secara keseluruhan didapat rata-rata penilaian sebesar 3,8 dengan kategori cukup baik. (2) Uji hipotesis kesamaan rerata hasil belajar pre-test dan post-test menggunakan uji t sampel independen SPSS for Windows Versi 17.0. Uji ini menggunakan asumsi bahwa data berdistribusi normal dan varians data adalah homogen. Uji ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui signifikansi perbedaan hasil belajar biologi antara pre-test dan post-test. Hasil perhitungan menggunakan α = 5 % atau 0,05 dua sisi penolakan dapat di simpulkan bahwa H0 tidak dapat diterima, maka H1 diterima. Hal ini karena signifikansi dua sisi 0,00 ≤ 0,05 tingkat signifikansi (α) atau thitung 5,744 ≥ ttabel 2,074. (3) siswa memberikan respon positif pada model Discoverypada materi ciri-ciri makhluk hidup.

Therefore, efforts were made toseethe benefits of usingDiscoverylearning modelonthe materialcharacteristics ofliving thingsto thestudent learning outcomes.
The purpose of this study was (a) to determine the application of the model of discovery on the material characteristics of living things in the junior class VII.1 Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya; (b) to determine the effect of the discovery model of the learning outcomes of students in the junior class VII.1 Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya; (c) to determine students responses to the application of the discovery model on the material characteristics of living things. This study used a quantitative approach using pre-experimental design in the form of one group pretest-posttest. The subjects were students in the juniur class VII.1 Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya they numbered 27 people. The instrumen used i the student cognitive achievement test, a questionnaire and a learning managemant questionnaire responses of students towards learning.
The result of the analysis showed that: (1) the application of the biology subject to the material characteristics of living things as a whole gained an average rating of 3,8 with a category quite well. (2) test the hypothesis by using two different test average population associated with formula T-test showed significant influence Discovery learning model the learning outcomes of students in the junior class VII.1 Raudhatul Jannah Palangka Raya this case based on the result of the calculation of the average visible and variance 61,37 pretest and posttest mean was 75.32 and the variance is 53.94. The correlation between the scores of pre-test and post-test is 0.81 which means that there is a relationship even lower. Results of t count of 10.09. T table to test one direction by 1.72 with the probability (p) of 8,31E-10. Thus it can be deduced that in H0 is rejected because t count> t table (10.09> 2.08). Discovery thus affect the application of the model student learning outcomes. (3) students gave a positive response in a model of Discovery on the material characteristics of living things.
