Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (a) untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar biologi antara siswa yang diajar dengan model Learning Cycle dibandingkan dengan siswa yang diajar dengan pembelajaran yang sudah diterapkan di sekolah (Pembelajaran konvensional) pada materi pencemaran lingkunga di kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya; (b) untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh penerepan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle pada materi pencemaran lingkungan terhadap hasil belajar siswa di kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dan rancangan Non-Equivalent Control Group Pretest-Postest. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP MuhammadiyahTahun Ajaran 2013/2014, sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII-1 yang berjumlah 36 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-2 yang berjumlah 30 orang sebagai kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode tes dan analisis data menggunakan program SPSS versi 20.0 for windows.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa (a) Hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen meningkat dari pretest ke postest dengan rata-rata 40,18 menjadi 77,13. Sedangkan N-gainnya memiliki rata-rata 0,61; (b) Hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol meningkat dari pretest ke postest dengan rata-rata 42,33 menjadi 68,22. Sedangkan N-gainnya memiliki rata-rata 0,44 dan; (c) Uji hipotesis menggunakan program SPSS versi 20.0 for windows, menunjukan model Learning Cycle berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada kelas VII-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak

The objectives of the study are (a) to know the improvement of learning outcomes in biology between the students taught through Learning Cycle model compared those taught through conventional method in the topic of environment pollution at class VII SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya; (b) to know whether or not there is an influence of Learning Cycle model in the topic of environment pollution toward learning outcomes of the students at class VII SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya.
The study uses quantitative approach with quasi experiment and Non-Equivalent Group pretest-postest design. The populations of the study are the students of SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya in Academic Year 2013/2014. The samples of the study are the 30 students of SMP Muhammadiyah Palangka Raya in Academic Year 2013/2014 as control class. Data are collected through test and the data are analyzed through SPSS program of 20.0 for windows version.
The results of the study indicate that (a) the average for the learning outcomes of the students in experimental class from pretest to posttest; 40,18 becomes 77,13. The N-gain has the average 0,61 and (b) the average for learning outcomes of the students in control class improves from pretest to posttest; 42,33 becomes 68,22. The N-gain has the average score 0,44 and (c) test of hypothesis using SPSS program of 20.0 for windows version indicates that Learning Cycle model has an influence on the learning outcomes of the students of class VII as experimental class, therefore, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.
