Abstract

The problems of this study are, (1) Is the quality of summative test at the tenth grade made by the English teacher of SMK Kesehatan Borneo Bhakti HusadaPalangka Raya valid?, (2) Is the quality of summative test at the tenth grade made by the English teacher of SMK Kesehatan Borneo Bhakti HusadaPalangka Raya reliable?, (3) Does the summative test at the tenth grade made by the English teacher of SMK Kesehatan Borneo Bhakti HusadaPalangka Raya meet the quality of index difficulty?, (4) Does the summative test at the tenth grade made by the English teacher of SMK Kesehatan Borneo Bhakti HusadaPalangka Raya meet the quality of effectiveness distracter?, (5) Does the summative test at the tenth grade made by the English teacher of SMK Kesehatan Borneo Bhakti HusadaPalangka Raya meet the quality of multiple choice test?, (6) How the summative test is made?, (7) What are the sources used by the English teacher in making summative test?, (8) Why does the English teacher used the sources?.
The objectives of the study are, to measure validity, reliability, index difficulty, effectiveness distracter, quality of multiple choice test, and to know how the summative test is made, to know what are the sources used by the English teacher in making summative test, to know the reason’ teacher why used the sources.
In this study the writer used quantitative method. The writer took the English summative test items of multiple choice at the tenth grade made by the English teacher of SMK Kesehatan Borneo Bhakti HusadaPalangka Raya for the second semester in academic year 2012/2013. The techniques of collecting data were documentation and interview.
The result of this study showed that the validity of the summative test at the tenth grade made by the English teacher of SMK Kesehatan Borneo Bhakti HusadaPalangka Raya for the second semester in academic year 2012/2013 is classified as 3,3 % as no correlation, 16,6 % as low, 56,6 % as fair, 16,6 % as high, and 6,6 as very high. The reliability of the test was 0,85 so it was high reliability. And the result of index difficulty was 63,3% as easy, 33,3% as middle, and 3,3% as difficult. The analysis of effectiveness distracter indicated there are 18 items that the distracters do not effective. The quality of multiple choice test based on good criterion found 1 (one) item that was less of fulfillment the criterion; it was the item number 17. The result of interview known that the summative test is made based on latticework taught. The references are taken from books of Be Long Sweet English for Vocational High School and Look a Head. The references are used because the material taken is connected to the material taught and appropriate with the syllabus.
