Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah penerapan strategi problem based learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain One-group Pretest-Posttest. Variabel penelitian ini ada 2 yaitu penerapan strategi problem based learning sebagai variabel bebas dan kemampuan berpikir kritis sebagai variabel terikat. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa mata pelajaran PAI kelas XI materi Pengurusan Jenazah. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh kelas XI di SMA Negeri 2 Palangka Raya Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022, sampel penelitian adalah kelas XI MIPA 2 berjumlah 16 orang sebagai kelas eksperimen yang dipilih menggunakan simple random sampling. Analisis data pretest dan posttest tes kemampuan berpikir kritis menggunakan SPSS 18.

Hasil penelitian kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran PAI materi pengurusan jenazah dengan menggunakan strategi problem based learning menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan analisis hasil tes didapatkan nilai rata-rata pretest 58,38 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 78,44. Berdasarkan analisis N-gain menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran PAI mengalami peningkatan dilaksanakannya pembelajaran menggunakan strategi problem based learning dengan nilai sebesar 0,45 dan termasuk kategori sedang. Berdasar angket respon siswa terhadap penerapan strategi problem based learning pada pembelajaran PAI Kelas XI materi pengurusan jenazah didapatkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 76,35% dengan kategori baik.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to describe the improvement of students critical thinking skills after the implementation of problem-based learning strategies. This research is an experimental quantitative research using One-group Pretest-Posttest design. There are 2 variables in this research, namely the application of problem based learning strategies as an independent variable and critical thinking skills as an optional variable. The instrument used is a test of the ability to think critically of students in PAI class XI material on Body Management. The study population was all class XI at SMA Negeri 2 Palangka Raya for the Academic Year 2021/2022, the research sample was class XI MIPA 2 which collected 16 people as an experimental class selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis of the initial test and the final test of critical thinking skills using SPSS 18.

The results of the research on students' critical thinking skills in PAI learning material for handling corpses using a problem based learning strategy showed that based on the analysis of the test results, the average pretest score was 58.38 and the posttest average was 78.44. Based on the N-gain analysis, it shows that students' critical thinking skills in PAI subjects have increased the application of learning using problem based learning strategies with a value of 0.45 and is included in the medium category. Based on the student's response questionnaire to the application of problem based learning strategies in PAI Class XI learning materials for the management of corpses, an average value of 76.35% was obtained in the good category.
