Abstract

The rate of development of the times, has an impact on the development of ways and types of buying and selling activities in society. One of them is buying and selling transactions that are practiced by the Ujung Senja Batang Cafe, which uses the voucher system as a medium of exchange in buying and selling food and beverages. This method is not commonly used by the local community, therefore a study is needed to review the validity of the contract in buying and selling carried out with the voucher exchange system. This study aims to find out how to implement the practice of buying and selling with the voucher exchange system at the Ujung Senja Batang Cafe and to find out the validity of the contract used in the practice of buying and selling with the voucher exchange system. This research method is analytical deductive, with the type of empirical normative research. The results showed that the practice of buying and selling at the Ujung Senja Batang Cafe was to require visitors to exchange their rupiah for a voucher with the same nominal value, which was Rp. 30,000, Rp 50,000, and Rp 100,000, as a medium of exchange in buying and selling food and beverages in the cafe area. This practice is legal and allowed because there are some visitors who agree with the terms of the transaction. However, there are also transactions whose laws are fasid or damaged because they do not meet one of the conditions in the sale and purchase, namely the exchange rate requirement for substitute goods which causes compulsion and losses for other visitors
