Abstract

Media sosial adalah layanan paling popular saat ini, para penggunanya dapat berkomunikasi satu sama lain, berinteraksi, berbagi jaringan, dan berbagai kegiatan lainnya. Rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini meliputi : 1) Manajemen pemanfaatan media sosial whatsapp sebagai media pembelajaran guru pada siswa; 2) Pengaruh pemanfaatan media sosial whatsapp terhadap motivasi belajar siswa; dan 3) Pengaruh pemanfaatan media sosial whatsapp terhadap hasil belajar siswa SMP Negeri 1 Mentaya Hilir Utara.

Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskripsi kuantitatif, dengan desain penelitian terdiri dari kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen dengan teknik penelitian menggunakan uji prasyarat yang terdiri dari uji asumsi klasik dengan memunculkan data uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas serta uji hipotesis mean lebih dari dua populasi dengan menganalisis varian menggunakan one-way Anova.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil penilaian perencanaan pembelajaran dikategorikan baik dengan rerata 3,2, kecuali pada indikator penetapan tujuan reratanya 2,6 dikategorikan cukup, elaborasi alternatif reratanya 2,4 dikategorikan cukup, dan pemilihan media reratanya 2,4 dikategorikan cukup. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dibagi kedalam tiga tahapan kegiatan yaitu pendahuluan, kegiatan inti, dan kegiatan penutup. Evaluasi aktivitas guru dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode tes meliputi kegiatan praktikum dan tes tertulis, sedangkan metode non tes meliputi pengamatan aktivitas, partisipasi, motivasi dan etika peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Hasil motivasi belajar peserta didik pada kelas eksperimen dikategorikan sedang dengan rerata indeks persentase 65,45% sedangkan kelas kontrol dikategorikan rendah dengan rerata indeks persentse 49.79%. hasil analisis normalitas data untuk hasil belajar kognitif peserta didik dinyatakan terdistribusi normal, dimana hasil uji normalitas data pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas control sig.>0,05. Normalitas data didukung dengan uji homogenitas sebesar sig.0,321 > 0,05 sehingga diinterprestasikan bahwa varian data baik dikelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol dinyatakan homogen. Hasil analisis NGain (%) dikelas eksperimen sebesar 63,56 dikategorikan cukup efektif, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 41,39 dikategorikan tidak efektif.

ABSTRACT

Social media is the most popular service today, its users can communicate with each other, interact, share networks, and various other activities. The formulation of the problems in this study include: 1) Management of the use of social media WhatsApp as a medium for teacher learning to students; 2) The effect of using whatsapp social media on students' learning motivation; and 3) The influence of the use of whatsapp social media on student learning outcomes of SMP Negeri 1 Mentaya Hilir Utara.

This type of research uses a quantitative description method, with a research design consisting of a control class and an experimental class with a research technique using a prerequisite test consisting of a classical assumption test by generating normality test data and a homogeneity test as well as a mean hypothesis test of more than two populations by analyzing variants using one-way Anova.

The results showed that the results of the learning planning assessment were categorized as good with a mean of 3.2, except for the goal-setting indicator the mean was 2.6 which was categorized as sufficient, the average elaboration of alternatives was 2.4 categorized as sufficient, and the choice of media averaged 2.4 categorized as sufficient. The implementation of learning is divided into three stages of activities, namely preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities. Evaluation of teacher activities in teaching and learning activities is carried out using the test method including practicum activities and written tests, while the non-test method includes observing the activities, participation, motivation and ethics of students in the learning process. The results of students' learning motivation in the experimental class were categorized as medium with a mean percentage index of 65.45% while the control class was categorized as low with a mean percentage index of 49.79%. The results of the data normality analysis for the cognitive learning outcomes of students are stated to be normally distributed, where the results of the data normality test in the experimental class and control class are sig.> 0.05. The normality of the data is supported by a homogeneity test of sig.0,321> 0.05 so that it is interpreted that the data variants in both the experimental class and the control class are declared homogeneous. The result of NGain's analysis (%) in the experimental class was 63.56 categorized as quite effective, while the control class was 41.39 categorized as ineffective.
