Abstract
Penelitian ini bertolak dari kegiatan pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru, peserta didik cenderung hanya mencatat serta mendengarkan dari penjelasan guru sehingga peserta didik masih berpikir tingkat rendah yaitu mengetahui (C1), memahami (C2), mengaplikasikan (C3) sehingga peserta didik belum mampu menguasai berpikir tingkat tinggi yaitu ranah berpikir analisis (C4), evalusai (C5), dan mencipta (C6) sehingga hasil belajar kognitif rendah. Hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran biologi kelas X masih rendah di bawah kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM) yang ditetapkan 70. Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir peserta didik disebabkan karena tidak sesuainya materi dengan model pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru. Melalui model pembelajaran PBL peserta didik diharapkan dapat menggali informasi melalui permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, (2) Ketuntasan hasil belajar peserta didik, (3) Respon peserta didik, (4) Pengelolaan pembelajaran biologi materi virus, setelah menggunakan model PBL.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif, jenis penelitian adalah pra eksperimen dengan desain rancangan pre-tes dan pos-tes. Sampel penelitian yaitu 31 peserta didik Kelas X MIA. Pengambilan data menggunakan tes pilihan ganda 15 soal, tes uraian berbentuk skala likert 5 soal, angket, dan dokumentasi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa melalui PBL; (1) Kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 65.54% kategori cukup, (2) Ketuntasan individual diperoleh 22 orang tuntas dan 9 orang tidak tuntas dan ketuntasan klasikal diperoleh 70,96% kategori tidak tuntas, (3) Respon peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran PBL memperoleh rata-rata sebesar 65,69% kategori baik, (4) Pengelolaan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran PBL matei Virus diperoleh skor rata-rata 73,6 kategori baik.
ABSTRACT
This study is based on learning activities that still centered on the teacher, students tend to only record and listen from the teacher explanation so that learners still think low level of knowing (C1), understanding (C2), applying (C3) so that learners have not been able to think about analysis (C4), evaluation(C5), and creating (C6) so that the cognitive learning outcomes are low. Learning outcomes of learners on the subjects of biology class X is still low under the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) that established 70. Low ability of thinking of learners caused by inappropriate material with the model of learning applied by the teacher. Through the learning model PBL learners are expected to dig information through problems in everyday life.
The purpose of this research is to know: (1) high level of thinking ability, (2) mastery of learners' learning result, (3) student response, (4) management of biology learning of viral material, after using PBL model.
This research uses quantitative descriptive approach, research type is pre experiment with pre-test design and post-test design. The samples were 31 students of Class X MIA. The data were collected using a multiple choice test of 15 questions, a description of a Likert scale of 5 questions, questionnaires, and documentation.
The results showed that through PBL are; (1) High thinking ability shows average value of 65.54% enough category, (2) individual completeness obtained 22 are complete and 9 stundents unfinished and classical completeness obtained 70.96% unfinished category, (3) Response learners to the PBL learning model obtained an average of 65.69% is good category, (4) Management in learning activities by applying PBL Virus material learning model obtained an average score of 73,6 is good category.
