Abstract

Basic electronics is a necessity for future education candidates because currently the physics curriculum has included a digital system as enrichment material. Therefore, Physics Education students in IAIN Palangka Raya which one of the learning outcomes is as educator must be able to have fundamental understanding of digital system in basic electronics. One of the basic materials in digital system electronics is the flip flop. However, before knowing the understanding of students, the instrument used to determine the student's understanding of the flip flop must be declared valid so able measure understanding of flip flop. This research aimed to describe quantitative-qualitatively the analysis of the understanding instrument of flip flops in basic electronics lesson. The analysis technique used is a product moment correlation test with the number of samples N = 13. According to the results of the analysis, it was obtained that there were 8 knowledge questions and 3 analysis questions invalid categorized using a signification level of 5%. Meanwhile, using a signification level of 1% there are 5 knowledge questions and 2 valid analysis questions invalid categorized. Thus, it can be concluded that 50% of the knowledge questions and 33% of the analysis questions must be revised in order to thoroughly measure the student’s understanding of flip flops.
