Abstract

Guru PAI MTs Negeri 2 Palangka Raya mengalami problema dalam kegiatan pengembangan profesi, hal tersebut terindikasi dari tidak terpenuhinya unsur pengembangan profesi sebagai salah satu persyaratan angka kredit untuk kenaikan jabatan/pangkat dan golongan dari IV/a ke IV/b.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui problema yang dihadapi Guru PAI MTs Negeri 2 Palangka Raya dalam kegiatan pengembangan profesi yang meliputi pengembangan diri, publikasi ilmiah, dan karya inovatif.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah 9 (sembilan) orang Guru PAI MTs Negeri 2 Palangka Raya, berstatus PNS, memiliki sertifikat pendidik. Metode pengumpulan data mempergunakan teknik wawancara dan dokumentasi..
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa problema yang dihadapi dalam kegiatan pengembangan profesi adalah pertama persaingan antar Guru PAI di madrasah, tidak memiliki kesempatan, dan kurangnya pelaksanaan kegiatan pengembangan diri. Kedua, keterbatasan waktu, keterbatasan pemahaman, kurangnya motivasi, dan tidak memiliki akses dalam publikasi ilmiah. Ketiga, keterbatasan kemampuan, keterbatasan alokasi dana, dan terbiasa dengan pola lama.

Religious teachers’ problem in professional development was indicated from inadequacy of professional development aspect as one of the requirement in professional career promotion, especially from IV/a to IV/b.
This study is aimed to identify the problems of professionalism development faced by religious teachers in MTsN 2 Palangka Raya. This activity consists of self-development, scientific-publication, and innovative-work.
This study employs qualitative research, focusing on case study. The subjects of the research were 9 (nine) religious teachers of MTsN 2 Palangka Raya, civilized and certified ones. The data collection was done through interview and documentation.
The result of study showed three main problems in professionalism development. Firstly, there was a great competition among the religious teachers in Islamic schools which actually having no broader chance. Secondly, the limitations in terms of time, knowledge and capability, access to learn and do that activity, and the publication as well. Thirdly, there was less motivation to develop self-capability since most of them prefer following the previous system, especially for promotion.
