Abstract

ABSTRACT

The objective of this study was to analyze the base problems: (a) to know students’ and lecturers’ needs and responses to the Noun Phrase worksheet which facilitated Structure II learning at IAIN of Palangka Raya, (b) to know the types of worksheet for the seccond semester students at IAIN of Palangka Raya, and (c) to develop the worksheet based on the lecturers’ and students’ needs and syllabus.In this study, research and development was used as the method. Then, the questionaireswere used to collect the data. There were 55 respondents as the subject, 53 students and 2 lecturers at IAIN of Palangka Raya.Based on the result of this study at IAIN of Palangka Raya; There were students’ needs related to the Noun Phrase worksheet; (a) the worksheet with many examples and the instruction to do the task, (b) the worksheet with many colors (c) the worksheet without complicated questions with double answers, (d) the worksheet with the multiple choice, essay, picture media, arranging the sentences, filling in the blank, puzzle, and completing.Based on the interview results, in responding their answers related to the students’ response to the existing worksheet, most of them said that the material of the existing worksheet was rather difficult to understand. They could answer only some of the questions in the worksheet, because of the difficulty and unsuitability with the examples.In responding their answers related to the students’ needs, they said that it was easier to understand the material. Another student said that if the instruction was not clear, then it would be confusing in doing the task.They said that because if there were many examples, it would be easier to understand. Another student said that because with color, it could make the material interesting and easy to understand.They said that because it was interesting to answer and it was rather easy to answer.Meanwhile from the lecturers’ needs, based on the result of this research, there were lecturers’ needs related to the Noun Phrase worksheet: (a) the worksheet with complete answer keys, (b) the material of the worksheet should agree with the syllabus, (c) the worksheet with the instruction to do the task.

ABSTRAK

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis masalah-masalah dasar, yaitu (a) untuk mengetahui kebutuhan dan tanggapan dosen dan mahasiswa/i terhadap lembar kerja Noun Phrase yang memfasilitasi pembelajaran Structure II di IAIN Palangka Raya, (b) untuk mengetahui jenis lembar kerja untuk mahasiswa/i semester 2 IAIN Palangka Raya, dan (c) untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja yang berdasarkan kebutuhan dosen dan mahasiswa/i dan silabus.Dalam penelitian ini,research and development digunakan sebagai metode. Kemudian, questionnaire menggunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Terdapat 55 orang sebagai subjek penelitian, 53 mahasiswa/i dan 2 dosen di IAIN of Palangka Raya.Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini pada IAIN Palangka Raya; terdapat kebutuhan mahasiswa/i terkait dengan lembar kerja, yaitu (a) lembar kerja dengan banyak contoh dan instruksi untuk mengerjakan tugas, (b) lembar kerja dengan banyak warna, (c) lembar kerja tanpa pertanyaan yang rumit dan jawaban yang ganda, dan (d) lembar kerja dengan pertanyaan pilihan ganda, uraian, media gamnbar, menyusun kalimat, mengisi titik-titik, teka-teki, dan melengkapi.Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, dalam menanggapi jawaban mereka terkait tanggapan terhadap lembar kerja yang ada, kebanyakan dari mereka mengatakan bahwa materi yang ada didalam lembar kerja agak sulit untuk dipahami. Mereka hanya mampu menjawab sebagian dari soal yang ada, karena sulit dan ketidaksesuaian dengan contoh. Dalam menanggapi jawaban terkait kebutuhan mereka, mereka mengatakan bahwa karena lebih mudah memahami materi. Mahasiswa lain mengatakan bahwa jika instruksi tidak jelas, maka akan membingungkan untuk mengerjakan tugas. Mereka juga bilang bahwa karena jika banyak contoh, maka akan lebih mudah untuk memahami. Mahasiswa lain mengatakan bahwa karena dengan warna, maka akan membuat materi menarik dan mudah untuk dipahami.Mereka juga mengatakan bahwa karena menarik untuk dijawab dan agak mudah untuk dijawab.Sedangkan dari kebutuhan dosen, berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini, terdapat kebutuhan-kebutuhan dosen tekait dengan lembar kerja Noun Phrase: yaitu (a) lembar kerja dengan kunci jawaban yang lengkap, (b) materi di lembar kerja harus sesuai dengan silabus, dan (c) lembar kerja dengan instruksi untuk mengerjakan tugas.
