Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan sebuah usaha untuk mendidik anak-anak agar dapat mengambil keputusan dengan bijak dan mempraktikkannya dalam kehidupan sehari-sehari, sehingga mereka dapat memberikan kontribusi yang positif kepada lingkungannya.

Rumusan masalah: 1) Bagaimana peranan guru pendidikan Agama Islam dalam pembentukan karakter siswa pada aspek: a) Religius, b) Peduli lingkungan, c) Gemar membaca, d) Cinta damai, e) Rasa ingin tahu ?
Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi.

Hasil penelitian: 1) Peranan guru pendidikan Agama Islam dalam pembentukan karakter siswa, yaitu sebagai berikut; (a) sikap religius yang ditanamkan kegiatan ibadah seperti sholat, menghafal juz amma, menghafal doa pendek; (b) sikap peduli lingkungan yang ditanamkan seperti mengadakan kegiatan budaya bersih seperti membersihkan lingkungan sekolah, lingkungan musholla dan ruang kelas; (c) sikap gemar membaca yang ditanamkan, budaya membaca disekolahan membaca buku diperpustakaan dan membaca buku di dalam kelas; (d) sikap cinta damai yang ditanamkan memberikan bimbingan kepada siswa dan mengadakan kegiatan drama; (e) sikap rasa ingin tahu yang ditanamkan siswa selalu diberikan pertanyaan.

ABSTRACT

Character education is an effort to educate children to make wise decisions and practice them in their daily lives, so that they could make a positive contribution to their environment.

The reserach problems were; 1) how the role of teacher islamic religious education character in the formation aspects of srudent; a) religion, b) caring for the environment c) reading enthusiastical, d) peacefull, e) curiosity?

Data colllection techniques used were obsevation, interview and documentation.

The results of research were; 1) the role of islamic religion teacher in student’s charakter building, ad follows; (a) religious attitudes were applied by worship activities such as praying, memorizing juz amma and short praying; b) The environment carring was implemented by conducting clean activities such as cleaning school, mosque and classroom environtment; c) reading entusiatic was implemented by reading culture in the school reading books in library and classroom; d) a loving attitude of peace was applied by guiding students and conducting drama activities; e) curiosity was applied by always giving the students questions.
