Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam yang dilaksanakan, seperti siswa menguasai teori tetapi belum bisa mempraktikkan teori tersebut dan rendahnya hasil belajar siswa di SMP N 2 Balai Riam. Materi PAI yang bersifat teoritis dan praktis yang menuntut siswa selain untuk memahami juga mampu untuk mempraktikkan perlu metode yang tepat agar dapat mencapai hasil belajar yang maksimal. Ada banyak metode yang dapat digunakan,seperti halnya penggunaan metode demonstrasi dan drill. Oleh karena itu peneliti melakukan eksperimen menggunakan metode demonstrasi dan drill dalam pembelajaran agar tercipta suasana pembelajaran yang aktif dan mencapai hasil belajar yang maksimal.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: Pertama, untuk mendeskripsikanpenerapan metode demonstrasi. Kedua, untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan metode drill dan Ketiga, untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan metode demonstrasi dan drill terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi shalat jama’ dan qashar mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam kelas VII di SMP Negeri 2 Balai Riam Sukamara.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode Quasi Eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Desaign. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan tes.Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara terlebih dahulu di uji normalitas dan homogenitas dilanjutkan pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji t.

Hasil penelitian ini adalah: Pertama, Penerapan metode demonstrasi yang dilaksanakan sudah sesuai dengan langkah-langkah penerapan metode demonstrasi dan hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami perubahan dan peningkatan dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar sebelumnya.Kedua, Penerapan metode drill yang dilaksanakan sudah sesuai dengan langkah-langkah penerapan metode drill dan hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami perubahan dan peningkatan dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar sebelumnya.Ketiga, Dari hasil test yang dilakukan, kelas eksperimen memperoleh rata-rata hasil belajarpre test adalah 56,32 dan post test adalah 78,68, sedangkan kelas kontrol memperoleh rata-rata hasil belajar pre test adalah 58,75 dan post test 68,75. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t diperoleh thitung = 2,249 dan pada taraf signifikan α = 0,05 diperoleh ttabel = 2,026 karena thitung> ttabel= 2,249> 2,026, maka signifikan dan hipotesis yang diajukan H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat efektivitas penerapan metode demonstrasi dan drill terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi shalat jama’ dan qashar mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam kelas VII di SMP Negeri 2 Balai Riam Sukamara.

ABSTRACT

The background of this research was the problem in the learning Islamic education that was implemented, such as students mastered the theory but they had not been able to practice its and the result of students’ learning was low in SMPN2 Balai Riam. Islamic Religious Education subject that had theoretical and practical categories required the students not only to understand the theories but also to practice its. It would be done if the teachers and learners used appropriate method in order to achieve maximum learning results. There are many methods those could be used, as well as the use of demonstration and drilling method. Therefore, researcher conducted experiments using demonstration and drilling methods in order to create an active learning atmosphere and to achieve maximum learning results. The purposes of this research were: first, to describe the implementation of demonstration method, Second, to describe the implementation of drilling method and third, to determine the effectiveness of implementation of demonstration and drilling method toward students’ learning results on the Jama’ and Qashar prayer materials of Islamic Religious Education Subject at grade VII SMPN 2 Balai Riam Sukamara.

This research used a qualitative approach, Quasi Experimental method was designed by Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Data collection techniques were observation, documentation and testing. Data analysis was done by first in normality and homogeneity test and continued to hypothesis testing using t test.

The results of this research were: first, the implementation of demonstration method was done according to demonstration method steps and the students’ learning result changed and improved better than the previous learning results, second, the implementation of drilling method was done according to drilling method steps and the students’ learning results changed and increased better than the previous learning results, third, from the test results conducted the experimental class acquired average of pre test learning result was 56,32 and post test was 78,68, while the control group acquired average of pre test learning result was 58,75 and post test was 68,75. Based on the hypothesis test using t-test acquired tcount = 2,249 and the significance level of α = 0, 05 acquired t table = 2,026 because t count> t table= 2,249 > 2,026, so the significant and hypothesis of H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. So it could be concluded that there was effectiveness of implementing demonstration and drilling method toward students’ learning results on the Jama’ and Qashar prayer in Islamic Religious Education subject at grade VII SMPN 2 Balai Riam Sukamara.
