Abstract

Dampak sosial ekonomi pembangunan perkebunan kelapa sawit bisa berupa dampak negatif atau positif. Dampak positif dari aspek ekonomi adanya lapangan pekerjaan baru, berkurangnya angka pengangguran, dan meningkatnya pendapatan. Dan dampak negatifnya berdampak pada pencemaran lingkungan. Selain itu, masuknya pekerja dari luar daerah mengurangi peluang bagi masyarakat sekitarnya untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan. Dampak positif aspek sosial bagi masyarakat adalah tersedianya sarana dan prasarana, seperti pembangunan jalan, sekolah, tempat ibadah, dan sarana lainnya. Sementara itu, dampak negatif dalam aspek sosial adalah potensi terjadinya perubahan gaya hidup, kecemburuan sosial, kesehatan masyarakat dan struktur sosial lainnya yang akan dirasakan masyarakat sekitar perusahaan kelapa sawit.

Fokus masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana dampak sosial pada pembangunan pekebunan kelapa sawit bagi masyarakat dan bagaimana dampak ekonomi pada pembangunan pekebunan kelapa sawit bagi masyarakat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan dampak sosial dan ekonomi pada pembangunan perkebunan kelapa sawit bagi masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 8 (delapan) orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber.

Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dampak sosial bagi masyarakat memberikan dampak positif dan negatif. Dampak positif, dengan hadirnya masyarakat dari luar daerah mendorong terciptanya daya hidup baru, dampak negatifnya lingkungan tercemar yang berpengaruh pada kesehatan masyarakat, interaksi masyarakat lokal dengan pihak perusahaan kurang baik, tidak ada bantuan dari perusahaan untuk membangun atau memperbaiki sarana dan prasarana desa seperti jalan, sekolah, dan puskesmas. Dan dampak ekonomi bagi masyarakat memberikan dampak positif adanya lapangan pekerjaan baru mengakibatkan pendapatan masyarakat meningkat.

ABSTRACT

The socio-economic impacts of oil palm plantation development can be either negative or positive impacts. The positive impact from the economic aspect is the presence of new jobs, reduced unemployment, and increased income. And the negative impact has an impact on environmental pollution. In addition, the influx of workers from outside the region reduces opportunities for the surrounding community to find work. The positive impact of the social aspect for the community is the availability of facilities and infrastructure, such as the construction of roads, schools, places of worship, and other facilities. Meanwhile, the negative impact in the social aspect is the potential for changes in lifestyle, social jealousy, public health and other social structures that will be felt by the community around the palm oil company.

The focus of the problem in this research is how the social impact on the development of oil palm plantations for the community and how the economic impact on the development of oil palm plantations for the community. The purpose of this study is to describe the social and economic impacts of oil palm plantation development for the community. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The research subjects were 8 (eight) people. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validation technique uses source triangulation.

The results of the study show that the social impact on the community has a positive and negative impact. Positive impacts, with the presence of people from outside the region encouraging the creation of new life forces, negative impacts on the polluted environment that affect public health, poor interaction between local communities and companies, no assistance from companies to build or repair village facilities and infrastructure such as roads, schools, and health centers. And the economic impact on the community has a positive impact on the existence of new jobs resulting in increased community income.
