Abstract

Islamic studies in Indonesia cannot be separated from the role of Islamic educational institutions, especially Islamic boarding schools and madrasas. These two institutions are always closely related to the Yellow Book as a source of study material in the learning process. In general, the methods used in learning the yellow book in Islamic boarding schools or madrasas are classical methods, sorogan and lectures. This method is boring and makes students less active in the learning process. Apart from the third method, it should also be accompanied by other methods so that learning the yellow book becomes interesting and makes studentsactive. This type of research is qualitative with the type of case study research. Collecting data using observation, interview and documentation techniques. The participants in this study were madrasa leaders, 3 ustadz, 2 ustadz and 12 students in class IV. The purpose of this study was to find out how to learn Islam at Madrasah diniyah An-nur, whether it can be followed properly or not, and what methods are used in learning the book. The results showed that Islamic studies at Madrasah diniyah An-nur could be followed well by the students based on the results of observations, interviews with ustadz/ustadzah and students and based on the scores of the written test results. The methods used in learning the yellow book at Madrasah diniyah An-nur Tamban Catur District, Kapuas regency are lectures, questions and answers, memorization, and practice. The implication of this research is to show that learning Islam through book learning can be followed well if it is accompanied by varied learning methodsas like questions and answers, memorization, and practice.
