Abstract

Advances in technology, science and business are growing. With this change, humans often fall into despicable traits. This can result in dryness of spirituality and loss of belief in God. Efforts are being made to be zuhud. This study aims to determine the concept of zuhud, the history of business development and the meaning of zuhud in business behavior at the Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a qualitative method. Sources of data come from observations and interviews as well as other literature related to the research theme. The results showed that zuhud is placing the world in the palm of the hand, not in the heart. Business in the Idrisiyyah Order started in 1932, which was pioneered by an entrepreneur, namely Sheikh Abdul Fattah. Then it was developed by subsequent mursyids in the 80s, a pesantren cooperative was formed and in the 2000s there was a shift from the personal phase to the structural phase and modernized after the leadership istihlaf to Sheikh Akbar Muhammad Fathurrahman. In2010 the business sector in Idrisiyyah progressed and was well managed and still prioritized the ukhrawi side. The meaning of zuhud in business behavior is as a foundation in carrying out business activities and as a brake to control oneself from worldly pleasures based on tariqoh with mujahadah and riyadhah.
