Abstract
This article is entitled. Dominance of Javanese Traders in Seruyan Regency (Analysis of Gramsci's Hegemony Theory). Hegemony is an attempt to dominate one class over another which is caused ideologically and politically. Hegemony is carried out through a consensus mechanism not by oppression of other social classes. This hegemony is also carried out by Javanese traders in Seruyan district, this can be seen by the dominance of their numbers in carrying out various economic activities such as selling pentol, vegetables, fried foods, opening minimarkets, food stalls and so on. The purpose of this study is to reveal the stages of hegemony carried out by Javanese traders on the economy of the community in Seruyan district. The research approach used is library research. The research approach used is the theory of hegemony put forward by Gramsci who is a philosopher from Italy. The results of the study show that in carrying out the hegemony of Javanese traders in Seruyan Regency, they go through three stages, the first is the economic (materialistic) stage, the second is the direction stage and the last is the hegemonic stage.
