Abstract

The aim of the study was to analyze the syibbuliddah concept material for men according to Wahbah Zuhaili. The research method used was library research, which used secondary data sourced from the results of previous studies which were analyzed using the theory of maqasid shari'ah and the application of qawaid fiqhiyyah. The results of this study found that in Islam, if a husband and wife decide to divorce, then a provision is set regarding the existence of an iddah or waiting period for a divorced woman or wife. In the classical period, iddah was onlydevoted to women in order to know the condition of a woman's womb in a state of purity, and to give time to think, especially for the husband to consider his decision to leave his wife or return to her. However, along with the development of people's thinking patterns and patterns of social justice, the concept of syibhul iddah emerged, namely men have an iddah period like women, this is based on the view of Wahbah Az-Zuhaili that not only women have an iddah period but there is also an iddah for men. men who are mentioned in the Qur'an although implicitly (syibhul iddah). Even in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) in articles 42 and 70 letter a there is an implicit meaning of iddah for men. Then, when examined with several relevant theories, it will bring out various lessons and benefits for the man himself, both from a psychological perspective, gender justice, as well as benefits for the household relationship
