Abstract

Penelitian ini berlatar belakang dari kurangnya pemahaman peserta didik terhadap materi protista yang dianggap banyak terdapat nama-nama ilmiah yang sulit untuk dipahami dan diingat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik SMPN 6 Palangka Raya yang diberikan perlakuan dengan model PBL dan model PjBL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain penelitiannya menggunakan Nonroundomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design.

Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Purposive Sampling. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 2 kelas yaitu 27 peserta didik pada kelas VII.6 dan 28 peserta didik pada kelas VII.7. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu berupa soal pilihan ganda untuk mengukur kemampuan kognitif dan lembar instrumen untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains. Analisis data menggunakan uji hipotesis.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Hasil belajar peserta didik kelas
VII.6 SMPN 6 Palangka Raya dengan model PBL berkategori sedang. 2) Hasil belajar peserta didik kelas VII.6 SMPN 6 Palangka Raya dengan model PjBL berkategori tinggi. 3) Berdasarkan analisis uji hipotesis dengan taraf signifikasi 0,05 pada aspek kognitif dan aspek keterampilan proses sains thitung > ttabel sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan model PBL dengan PjBL pada materi Protista di kelas VII SMPN 6 Palangka Raya baik aspek kognitif dan aspek keterampilan proses sains pada tahun 2019/2020. Model PjBL lebih efektif diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran biologi dibandingkan dengan model PBL dan keterampilan peserta didik berdasarkan instrumen penilaian proyek menunjukkan bahwa kelas PjBL lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelas PBL.

ABSTRACT

This research was based on the lack of students' understanding of protist material which was considered to have a lot of scientific names that were difficult to understand and remember. This study aims to determined the differences in learning outcomes of students in SMPN 6 at Palangkaraya whose treated with the PBL model and the PjBL model. This study used a quasi-experimental method and the research design used Nonroundomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design.

The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The sample included 2 classes, there were 27 students in class VII.6th and 28 students in class VII.7th. The instrument used the form of multiple choice questions to measured cognitive abilities and instrument sheets to measure science process skills. Data analysis used hypothesis test.

The results showed that: 1) The learning outcomes of classroom students VII.6th SMPN 6 at Palangka Raya with a PBL model were medium category. 2) The learning outcomes students of VII.6th in SMPN 6 at Palangka Raya with the PjBL model were high category. 3) Based on the analysis of hypothesis test with a significance level of 0.05 on cognitive aspects and science process skills aspects tcount > ttable, so it can be concluded that there were significant differences between the learning outcomes of students who used the PBL model with PjBL on Protist material in class VII of SMPN 6 at Palangka Raya both the cognitive aspects and the science process skills aspects in 2019/2020. The PjBL model was more effectively applied in the Biology learning process compared to the PBL and science process skills models of students based on project appraisal instruments showing the PjBL class was better than the PBL class.
