Abstract

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) resmi beroperasi pada 1 Februari 2021.BSI merupakan Bank Syariah terbesar di Indonesia hasil penggabungan (merger) tiga Bank Syariah dari Himpunan Bank Milik Negara. Di tengah adaptasi kebiasaan baru pada masa merger ini, Bank Syariah terus mengalami tekanan dampak adanya merger ini.Tentunya merger ini dapat dilihat sebagai analisis yang bersifat general (umum) yang belum tentu seluruh kasus pasca merger akan jauh lebih baik.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif-kepustakaan (library research). Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan konseptual dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan analisis teoritis yang mendalam dengan teori dampak. Penelitian ini juga dilakukan dengan memahami konsep dari merger dan pangsa pasar Bank Syariah Indonesia.

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari merger tiga Bank Syariah yang telah berubah namanya menjadi Bank Syariah Indonesia dan telah berlangsung selama beberapa bulan terakhir terlihat dampak positif dan negatif dalam terjadinya merger ini meliputi: (1) dampak positif pada pangsa pasarnya berhasil mencatat pertumbuhan yang awalnya berada dikisaran 6,51% menjadi 9,96% dan dampak negatif pangsa pasar ini yang masih terbilang rendah disebabkan karena literasi keuangan syariah masyarakat masih rendah. (2) dampak positif pada Bank Syariah terjadinya merger yang dapat dilihat dari segi perubahan aset, DPK, dan laba yang membesar dan dampak negatif aset bank syariah masih tergolong rendah, yang berasal dan dapat dilihat dari unit usaha syariah, bank umum syariah, dan BPR Syariah. (3) dampak positif pada nasabah pasca merger juga dapat dilihat dari total jumlah nasabah di Bank Syariah Indonesia dan dampak negatif selama proses integrasi atau disebut dengan masa transisi, nasabah masih menggunakan jaringan ATM dari masing-masing bank. (4) dampak positif pada karyawan status karyawan ketiga bank tidak akan ada pemutusan hubungan kerja (PHK) terhadap semua karyawan dan negatif perlu melakukan penyesuaian sistem jaringan operasional

ABSTRACT

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) officially operates on February 1, 2021. BSI is the hugest Islamic bank in Indonesia as the result of the merger of three Islamic banks from the Association of State-Owned Banks. While adapting to new habits during this merger period, Islamic Banks continue to experience pressure from the impact of this merger. Furthermore, this merger might be viewed as a generic analysis, which does not imply that all post-merger scenarios will be significantly better.

This research is qualitative-library research (library research). The approach used in this research is conceptual and contextual. This study was carried out using an in-depth theoretical analysis based on impact theory. This research was also conducted by understanding the concept of merger and market share of Indonesian Islamic Banks.

The findings of this study reveal that the merger of three Islamic banks, which have changed their names to Bank Syariah Indonesia and have been taking place for the past several months, has both positive and negative consequences. (1) the positive impact on its market share managed to record growth which was initially in the range of 6.51% to 9.96% and the negative impact of this market share is still relatively low is due to the low Islamic financial literacy of the community. (2) The positive impact on Islamic banks from the merger may be evident in terms of changes in assets, deposits, and earnings, while the negative impact on Islamic bank assets is still relatively minimal, originating and visible from sharia business units, sharia commercial banks, and rural banks Sharia. (3) the positive impact on post-merger customers can also be seen from the total number of customers at Bank Syariah Indonesia and the negative impact during the integration process or called the transition period, customers still use the ATM network of each bank. (4) positive impact on employee status of the employees of the three banks there will be no termination of employment (PHK) for all employees and negative, it is necessary to make adjustments to the operational network system.
