Abstract
Pendekatan saintifik merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang menggunakan langkah-langkah serta kaidah ilmiah dalam proses belajar mengajar. Penilaian hasil belajar peserta didik sebelumnya belum mencapai KKM yang ditetapkan, sehingga rendahnya penguasaan konsep peserta didik terutama pada materi keanekaragaman hayati. Hal ini disebabkan guru hanya menerapkan pembelajaran konvensinal sehingga peserta didik kurang terlibat dan tidak aktif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan saintifik dalam pembelajaran agar peserta didik aktif sehingga terjadi peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan pendekatan saintifik terhadap penguasaan konsep pada materi keanekaragaman hayati di kelas X MIA MA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X Madrasah Aliyah Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya dan sampel penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas X MIA MA Hidayatul Palangka Raya yang berjumlah 27 orang. Sebelum dilakukan tes, soal-soal penelitian diuji cobakan terlebih dahulu. Semua butir-butir soal ditentukan tingkat reliabilitas dan validitasnya.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan saintifik dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi keanekaragaman hayati dengan nilai rata-rata posttes sebesar 77 lebih tinggi dibandingkan nilai rata-rata sebelum pembelajaran (pretes) yaitu 37 serta nilai rata-rata N-gain sebesar 0,640 dengan kategori sedang.
ABSTRACT
The scientific approach is a learning approach that uses scientific steps and rules in the teaching and learning process. Assessment of student learning outcomes beforehand not yet reached of KKM which have been set, so the low mastery of the concept of students especially on biodiversity material. This is due to the teacher only applying conventional learning so that students are less involved and not active in teaching and learning activities. Therefore, a scientific approach to learning is needed so that students are active so that there is an increase in the quality of learning. The formulation of the research problem is whether the scientific approach influences the mastery of concepts in biodiversity material in class X MIA MA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya.
This research uses a quantitative approach. The research population was students of class X MA Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya and the research sample is students of class X MIA MA Hidayatul Palangka Raya which numbered 27 people. Before the test the research questions were tested first. All items are determined by their level of reliability and validity.
The research showed that the application of learning using a scientific approach can improve students' understanding of concepts on biodiversity material with an average posttest score of 77 higher than the average value before learning (pretest) which is 37 and the average value of N-gain of 0.640 with the medium category.
