Abstract

Penelitian ini bertolak dari keingin tahuan peneliti tentang bagaimana kemampuan membaca Al-Qur‟an peserta didik di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Musliamat Nahdatul Ulama Palangka Raya dan perbedaannya dengan Madrasah Tsanawiyah Islamiyah Palangka Raya. seperti diketahui bahwa mata pelajaran pendidikan agama islam di Madrasah itu lebih banyak di bandingkan sekolah umum dan ditunjang dengan alokasi waktu yang lebih banyak pula, sehingga
sudah sepantasnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam membaca Al-Qur‟an di Madrasah Tsanawiyah itu baik. Namun ternyata banyak peserta didik yang menempuh jalur pendidikan di Madrasah Tsanawiyah tetapi kemampuan membaca Al-Qur'an-nya masih kurang baik.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur sejauh mana kemampuan membaca Al-Qur‟an peserta didik di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Muslimat Nahdatul Ulama Palangka Raya, kemampuan membaca Al-Qur‟an di Madrasah
Tsanawiyah Islamiyah Palangka Raya dan perbedaann kemampuan membaca Al-Qur‟an di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Muslimat NU Palangka Raya dan Madrasah Tsanawiyah Islamiyah Palangka Raya.

Penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif komparatif atau perbandingan. Populasi dari penelitian ini sebanyak 336 peserta didik di MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya dan 138 peserta didik di MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya. Pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan proporsional random sampling,
sehingga peneliti memperoleh sampel sebanyak 78 peserta didik di MTs Muslimat
NU Palangka Raya dan 57 peserta didik di MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya. Teknik
pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, tes dan dokumentasi. Data
yang dianalisis adalah hasil tes membaca Al-Qur‟an dengan peserta didik di MTs
Muslimat NU Palangka Raya dan MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya.

Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) ditemukan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur‟an peserta didik di MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya mendapat nilai skor rata-rata sebesar 72,24 dengan kategori tinggi, 2) ditemukan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur‟an peserta didik di MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya mendapat
nilai skor rata-rata sebesar 57,81 dengan kategori rendah, 3) ditemukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan membaca Al-Qur'an peserta didik di MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya dan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur'an peserta didik di MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya.

ABSTRACT

The research background is the researcher's curiosity to recognize the
student's ability of reading Qur'an at MTs Muslimat Nahdatul Ulama Palangka Raya and the differences of student's ability which compared to MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya. The Islamic education is more taught by teacher at Islamic school than at public school commonly because it is supported by time allocation at Islamic school is more than at public school, so it is appropriate for students at Islamic school have good at Al-Qur‟an reading ability, however there are so many students who had studied at Tsanawiyah madrasa, the abilities of their reading Al-Qur'an is still not good.

The aims of this research are; to measure the student‟s ability of reading Qur'an at MTs Muslimat Nahdatul Ulama Palangka Raya and the differences of student‟s ability which compared to MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya.

This research used comparative descriptive. The research populations were 336 students at MTs Muslimat Nahdatul Ulama Palangka Raya and 138 students
at MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya. The research used proportional random sampling. The sampling was obtained from 78 students at MTs Muslimat Nahdatul Ulama and 57 students at MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya. The data collection techniques included: observation, testing, documentation. The data analyzed were: the result of student‟s Al-Qur‟an reading test at MTs Muslimat Nahdatul Ulama Palangka Raya and MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya.

The result showed that: 1) the student‟s ability of reading Al-Qur'an at MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya had acquired an average score of 72.24 (high category). 2) The student's ability of reading Al-Qur'an at MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya had acquired an average score of 57.81 (low category). 3) There were some significant differences of student's abilities in reading Al-Qur‟an at MTs Muslimat NU Palangka Raya which compared to MTs Islamiyah Palangka Raya
