Abstract

Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode Talking Stick dan Snowball Throwing bertujuan untuk melatih siswa lebih tanggap dalam berkomunikasi, membuat siswa lebih aktif, terlibat sepenuhnya dalam pembelajaran dan diskusi di kelas. hal inilah yang membuat peneliti tertarik untuk melakukan penelitian penerapan metode Talking Stick dan Snowball Throwing pada pembelajaran PAI dan Budi Pekerti.Inilah yang menjadikan pertimbangan peneliti sebagai tempat lokasi penelitian.
Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) Bagaimana Penerapan Metode Talking Stick pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti materi Thaharah di SMP Islam Nurul Ihsan Palangka Raya. 2) Bagaimana Penerapan Metode Snowball Throwing pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti materi Thaharah di SMP Islam Nurul Ihsan Palangka Raya.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif yang menghasilkan data deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yaitu guru mata pelajaran PAI dan Budi Pekerti, informan adalah empat orang siswa kelas VII. Objek penelitian adalah penerapan metode Talking Stick dan Snowball Throwing pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti materi Thaharah Kelas VII semester I di SMP Islam Nurul Ihsan Palangka Raya. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data melalui beberapa tahapan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: a) Penerapan metode talking stick dengan enam langkah, tidak semua langkah-langkahnya diterapkan oleh guru, ada satu langkah yang tidak diterapkan yaitu siswa seharusnya diberikan kesempatan untuk membaca kembali materi pelajaran yang ada pada buku pelajaran sementara pada kenyataannya setelah guru menjelaskan materi siswa langsung diberikan pertanyaan. b) Penerapan metode snowball throwing dengan tujuh langkah guru sudah menerapkan dan telah sesuai dengan langkah-langkah penerapannya.

ABSTRACT

Learning by using the Talking Stick and Snowball Throwing methods aims at training students to be more responsive in communicating, make students more active, be fully engaged in learning and discussion in class. This is what makes the researcher interested in conducting research into the implementation of Talking Stick and Snowball Throwing method in PAI and character learning. This is what makes the researcher take into considerations as a place of research locations.
The problem in this study was 1) How is the application of Talking Stick Method used in the subjects of Islamic religious and character on Thaharah material at Islamic junior high school Nurul Ihsan Palangka Raya. 2) How is the application of Snowball Throwing Method used in the subjects of Islamic religious and character on Thaharah material at Islamic junior high school Nurul Ihsan Palangka Raya.
This research applied a descriptive qualitative approach producing descriptive data. The subject of this study was teacher of Islamic Religious and Character subject, the informant is four class VII students. The object of this research was the implementation of Talking Stick and Snowball Throwing method in the subjects of Islamic Religious and Character on Thaharah material of Semester I, VII grade students in Islamic Junior High School Nurul Ihsan Palangka Raya. Data collection techniques was through, observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was through several stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions.
The results of the study showed that: a) In applying talking stick method with six steps , all steps were not implemented by teachers, there is one step that is not implemented which is that student should be given the opportunity reread the lesson material in the textbook while in reality explained the material students were immediately given questions. b) In applying Snowball Throwing with seven steps the teacher has applied and it complies its implementation steps.
